Bjorn Baker had the early favourite in here with Arriving Home. That filly has been scratched but Baker can still win the race courtesy of this mare with Damian Lane on top. It is very rare to see Lane on anything for Baker so his booking has to be of serious interest to her chance. Third and fourth in better races than this at Rosehill and Randwick in her last two starts. She probably would not want to see the ground get any easier than this but it is a drop in level for her which she can take advantage of.

Gold Coast R5 #9 - Moravia $2.00

Rather a frustrating type who does not always find a huge amount when asked to go and win his race. Perhaps that makes him a slightly odd choice for a multibet, especially at such short odds but this is a massive drop in class for him. He really ought to be able to see these off without having to come off the bridle which is going to be a massive help for him. Defeat at this level would be a huge blow to his connections.

Gold Coast R9 #6 - Lady Of Camelot $2.80

Very smart juvenile has found life a lot tougher as a three-year-old. Her day in the sun came when she won the Golden Slipper last season, keeping much tougher company than that this time around. She was third in the Moir and the Coolmore and fourth in the Everest. All of that form should make her a shorter price than she actually is here, especially as her main market rival is coming off the back of a Bm 72 win.

January at Gold Coast is a great way to start a new year. With the build-up to the Magic Millions meeting at the end of the month underway on the betting sites, we head there looking to get an early head start on how the track is running.
