Things didn’t quite go our way in the player props stakes in Game 2, with a solitary Jayson Tatum rebound keeping us from a productive two out of three day and instead resigning us to a disappointing one correct leg of our three-leg multi. Luka Doncic hit his double figure rebound number to give us that single win, while Kristaps Porzingis, after a brilliant Game 1, did indeed enjoy more playing time in Game 2 but was quiet when on the floor and fell well short of the points total we had him pegged for. The series now heads back to Dallas with the Mavericks desperately needing a win to get, and like the home team, we too will be looking to get back on the winners’ list on Thursday. This is our player props parlay for Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

Boston Celtics @ Dallas Mavericks
Kyrie Irving to score 25+ points @ $2.00 | GetSetBet
Often our bets are based on banking on trends which have emerged to continue, but this is certainly not one of those. Irving has been really disappointing through two games this series, scoring just 12 points in Game 1 and 16 points in Game 2, and his failure to be particularly productive from a scoring perspective has been a major reason for the Mavericks’ sputtering offence. But as Irving has shown plenty of times before throughout his career, he is very much a big-game player. Both he and his team will know that if they are to fight their way back out of the hole in which they find themselves, Irving is going to need to be a hell of a lot more productive than what he was during the opening two games of the series, and he is exactly the kind of player who will be able to find something when his team needs it most. Importantly, throughout those first two games of the series it wasn’t as though he was being particularly reserved on offence – he still took quite a lot of shots in both games, he just was not hitting them with anything near the regularity with which he would usually. What’s more, throughout this playoff series he has shown a penchant from bouncing back from quiet games with big ones; he has certainly had a few 20ish-point games, but by and large he has bounced around between struggling to hit 15 or so, and going up into the high 20s or 30s. With the Mavericks desperately needing a win and back on their home floor, expect the veteran of this team to come out with a point to prove and put up a 25+ point game for his team.
Boston Celtics @ Dallas Mavericks
Jrue Holiday to record 8+ rebounds @ $2.70 | BlueBet
Jrue Holiday is a perfectly good rebounder at his position, though he isn’t exactly renowned for it. What he is renowned for, however, is his tenacity and ability to rise to the occasion, and it’s not uncommon for that to translate into rebounds. Holiday has been hunting the ball off the boards like a man possessed of late, turning into a far more productive rebounder than his 5.4 per game during the regular season would suggest, and the result is that there is a decent little bit of value for him to have another big game on the boards with most NBA betting sites. Through his last four games, Holiday has averaged more than nine rebounds per game and has enjoyed at least eight in all four of them, and with three more of his five games prior to that yielding at least seven boards, it's safe to say that he is a good chance of once again going well past his season average in this game. Certainly the betting agencies have adjusted his odds a little bit here, with his line at around 6.5 – more than one whole rebound above what he averaged during the regular season. But having shown a clear penchant for going after the boards with an NBA championship within his grasp over the past few games, there is no reason to think that he won’t again be picking up close to double figure rebounds in this game. At close to $3, this looks like a really nice bet to add a good dose of value to our player props multi.
Boston Celtics @ Dallas Mavericks
Luka Doncic to record 10+ rebounds @ $1.73 | PlayUp
We’ll stick with some similar logic here, albeit at slightly less juicy odds. Luka Doncic always has the ball in his hands a lot, but with the season on the line that is only more true, and plenty of uncontested rebounds is the result as the Mavs try to get it in his mits as quickly as possible off a Celtics missed shot. Doncic getting a lot of rebounds is not exactly a new concept – he averaged 9.8 during the course of the regular season – but for an extended period of time now in these playoffs he has been ticking into double figures, even if not by a huge amount. He has hit this number in each of his last four games, a time during which he has averaged 11.5 boards per game, while going back a lot further than that he has reached ten rebounds in 10 of his last 12 games – a rate of more than 83%. The odds here are a little worse than even money, but $1.73 is still very good value for something that has been hitting more than 80% of the time for 12 games in succession. Back on his home court and in front of a rabid Dallas crowd, Doncic will likely come out and attempt to take over this game from the start. That will probably see him fill all corners of the stats sheet, but we will be focused on just the one number. With lots of value in another one of our bets in this multi, this is more of an anchor, and while far from a certainty it’s still a great chance of hitting to round out our Thursday multi.
