GetSetBet Review [July2024]

Getsetbet is one of the newest bookmakers to hit the Australian betting industry, having launched in late 2021. Owned by Swopstakes, this is a bookie which still has work to do to compete with some of its more established competitors, but which nonetheless has plenty going for it. In this Getsetbet review, we’ll take a look at what makes Getsetbet worth checking out, and what areas they could improve on. Let’s get stuck in.  

✔️GetSetBet Strengths

• 24/7 Live Chat – When I’m evaluating a bookmaker’s customer support platform, one of the first things I look for is whether they have live chat available. I find this to be the simplest way to get into contact with them, and if they make it available 24/7, it’s an added bonus. Getsetbet Australia, despite being a new bookie, has 24/7 live chat, which is a big tick for them.
• Easy-to-use Website – The Getsetbet website is really simple to navigate around. It uses an interface similar to a few other bookmakers, and has an intuitive interface that makes it easy to find what you need to find, and do what you need to do.
• Getsetbet TV – It’s rare for a new bookmaker to offer live streaming, but Getsetbet TV enables you to tune into many international races live on the site. For lovers of racing, this is likely to be a huge plus. 

❌GetSetBet Weaknesses

• Average Range of Sports Markets – Unfortunately, and as is often the case with new bookmakers, Getsetbet Australia doesn’t have a particularly wide selection of sports markets. For many major games, there is only a handful of betting options, with this element of the site paling in comparison to many competitors.
• No Live Betting – Live betting is something that more and more punters are choosing to get involved with, but not all bookmakers yet offer it. Getsetbet falls into this category, failing to provide any markets after an event has begun.
• No Live Streaming of Sports – Though Getsetbet TV is likely to be a big point of attraction for many, for those who don’t follow racing it won’t mean much. And, unfortunately, there are no streaming options in the way of sports. 

For a bookmaker in its relative infancy, Getsetbet Australia has a few impressive strengths, most notably its 24/7 live chat and Getsetbet TV. They do, however, have room for improvement in a few departments, too, and those weaknesses will be particularly significant for those who only bet on sports. 

Betting Variety ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is one area in which Getsetbet could definitely improve, with their range of markets uncompetitive with many bigger sites. 

Odds ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Though their betting variety isn’t great, the odds for the markets Getsetbet do have are pretty good. 

Mobile experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

You’ll have to deal with the occasional glitch on the Getsetbet app, but generally it’s very functional and easy to use.

The Getsetbet website is a good one; intuitive, responsive and straightforward. 

Customer Support ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We won’t judge them too harshly for not having a phone number, and 24/7 Live Chat makes this is a great customer support platform. 

Banking Options ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Getsetbet could certainly have a broader range of banking options, though what they do have is more than enough for me. 

Getsetbet is yet another new entrant to the Australian betting industry, but in a relatively short period of time they’ve already established themselves as a bookmaker which is competitive with their more experienced counterparts in many areas. Equally, however, there are areas of improvement. In this section of our Getsetbet review we’ll briefly cover over where they excel, and where they have work to do.  

One of the first things I look at when evaluating a betting site is their range of markets, and without wanting to start on a negative, this is one of the aforementioned areas in which Getsetbet Australia could get a little bit better. Their racing selection is good, but for sports they’re a little limited. There are a lot less sports on offer with Getsetbet than with some alternative betting sites, and for sports and games that they do have, their range of markets is also pretty limited. 

If you do find something that you want to bet on with Getsetbet, however, you’ll be greeted by some pretty decent odds. This is not something typically synonymous with new bookmakers; often odds are the one area in which they fall significantly behind their more established counterparts. Not so with Getsetbet, whose odds for both sports and racing are very decent. 

Importantly, all of this scouring of markets that you’ll do will be done on a very easy to use and aesthetically pleasing desktop site, or a pretty decent mobile app. The website is emblazoned in Getsetbet’s recognisable pink and blue colours, and uses a straightforward and familiar template which is used by many other bookmakers too. 

As for the app, it’s available for iOS and Android devices and allows you to access Getsetbet’s range of services on the go. It’s also relatively straightforward to use, and though it does occasionally glitch, this occurs less frequently than some other more established bookmakers, and given it’s still a new app I’m willing to forgive them for now, and give them a chance to make improvements.

Another area they could improve is in their deposit and withdrawal system, which while offering the major payment options, doesn’t provide a great deal of choice. For me this is a non-issue as I use debit card for deposits and bank transfer for withdrawals, both of which are available with Getsetbet Australia, but you won’t be able to use an eWallet or something else less common. 

Finally, to customer support. This is one area of Getsetbet that I really appreciate, predominantly because of the 24/7 availability of their Live Chat function. This makes it easy to get in contact with Getsetbet Australia any time day or night, and while they could improve by adding a phone number to call, perennially available Live Chat is, in my view, the best you can hope for in terms of customer support. 

Overall, Getsetbet has a few areas to work on – as do all new bookmakers and indeed all bookmakers more generally. For the most part, however, they have emerged onto the scene as a well-developed betting site given they are still in their relative infancy, and with room for improvement could grow to become one of the better options going around. 

It’s often the case that new bookmakers don’t have the same quantity of sports markets as their more experienced counterparts, and that’s no different in the case of Getsetbet Australia. Their range of sports available includes all those you’d expect – including Australian Rules, rugby league, tennis, basketball, golf and so on – which, for most punters, will be enough to keep them satisfied. 

Getsetbet do, however, have less sports on offer than many bigger betting sites, with just 14 on the site at the time of writing – significantly less than many of their competitors. Even more notable is the relative lack of markets they have on individual games.  

They do have all of the basics available for every game in major leagues, so if you’re only planning on betting on things like head-to-head, line or points total, then they’ll have what you need. If you’re looking for detailed player props, for example, or something else a little less common, then you might struggle to find it here. 

While Getsetbet might have some work to do in the sports department, what they have to offer for racing is a lot more similar to the bigger bookmakers. This is often the case; while the variation in sports markets can be quite significant across different betting sites, most bookies will have virtually all Australian racing meets available and plenty of international ones, too. Getsetbet Australia is no different. 

It’s easy to access their racing markets, with the next races to jump listed both at the top and in the center of the home page. Alternatively, you can click on the ‘Racing’ tab on the left-hand side of the page to immediately access all available markets for today, as well as over the next two days, and major races to come further in the future. 

Looking at individual race markets is then simply a matter of clicking on the relevant race, and you’ll be greeted with the fixed and tote odds for each runner to win and place. If you want to find exotics, they’re available through tabs above the runners as shown in the image below, while you can also place Same Race Multis – something that not every bookmaker offers.

Getsetbet Australia also offers a relatively detailed form guide for each runner; this exists for virtually all bookmakers, though sometimes they can be a little lacking in detail. Getsetbet doesn’t fall into this trap, with their easy-to-access form guide rounding out what is a competitive racing section. 

Now, having talked generally about the breadth of markets available with Getsetbet, let’s take a look more specifically at what types of markets are available with this bookmaker.

Betting odds is something which, somewhat strangely, can at times be overlooking when analysing and comparing betting sites. One reason for this is probably that, for the most part, there doesn’t appear to be a huge amount of difference from one betting site to the next. That is certainly true to an extent, but even small differences in odds between betting sites can become significant over time and over multiple bets. 

Often the odds that you’ll find with new bookmakers is not particularly competitive with the more established brands, but that’s not really the case with Getsetbet Australia. For racing, their odds sit right around the middle of the pack.  

For example, in an upcoming race they are taking a market percentage (which relates to how much money they would expect to take from any given race, and where a lower market percentage equals better odds) of around 122% which has them marginally below the best brands but a little way in front of many others. 

For sports, it’s a similar tale. Their odds aren’t quite as good as the best of the best, but they’re very competitive, particularly for a new site. Their even money bets, for example, generally sit around the $1.91 mark – by which I mean if both outcomes are seen as an equal chance of winning, these will be the odds. This is a good way to get a gauge of the odds a bookie is offering; some might offer $1.92 or very rarely more than that for such markets, while others could go down to $1.88 or even $1.87. $1.91 from Getsetbet is very competitive.  

Getsetbet might have a little bit of work to do in terms of the number of markets they offer, if you find the markets that appeal to you, their odds are very competitive with most of their fellow betting sites. 

Most bookmakers offer, for all intents and purposes, a pretty similar set of services, with only the way they are delivered separating one from another. So what does Getsetbet Australia have that is particularly noteworthy that helps them to stand out from the crowd? 

Getsetbet TV 

Getsetbet TV is a streaming platform available on Getsetbet Australia, and while it doesn’t provide a huge amount in the way of streaming, it does show a number of international races, making it a good alternative option to Sky TV. You won’t find any domestic races here, nor are there sports, but for those who like to punt or tune into international racing it is a really useful addition to this bookmaker.  

24/7 Live Chat 

A good way for a new bookmaker to endear themselves to the betting public is to offer a good customer support platform, and as I mentioned earlier, I find the best way to do this is to offer a live chat platform. This is a quick and easy way to resolve queries, and Getsetbet not only has one, but has made it available to punters 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You might not be likely to need it in the early hours of the morning, but this does demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service, and to use it, you need only click on the icon circled in red on the image below. 

For all of the popularity of betting apps, a bookmaker’s website is still the first port of call for most punters. As a result, making it easy to use, aesthetically pleasing and quick to load remains a very important thing for a betting site to do. 

The Getsetbet Australia website uses a similar template to many other betting sites. The home page has quite a lot of information on it, but retains a relatively uncluttered feel; across the top, above the recognisable pink, white and blue colours of Getsetbet, is a list of upcoming races which you can easily scroll through and use as quick links to get to those races, as shown in the image below. 

Beneath that, there are a number of boxes which contain links to the pages for popular sports, as well as different racing meets.  

On the left, you’ve then got the drop down menus through which you can find whichever sport you’re wishing to peruse the markets for, as well as a quick link to the Live Chat feature. From there it’s all pretty easy; you follow the links to find the market you’re looking for by clicking on either racing, or sports, followed by the relevant sport, the league you’re after, and finally the game. 

This is all very intuitive, and importantly the Getsetbet Australia website loads really quickly. This is a problem with a handful of betting websites; some can tend to lag and take a while to open pages, which, when you’re trying to simply quickly toggle to a certain market, can be enough to turn you to another site. This won’t be an issue with Getsetbet. 

Overall, Getsetbet have put together a really functional, user-friendly website. It looks good, is straightforward to use, and enables you to quickly and easily find whatever it is that you’re looking for on the site. 

A betting website can have all the bells and whistles possible, but it’s now a reality that bookmakers need to offer a good mobile betting experience, too. Typically this comes in the form of a mobile app – though some are still only providing mobile versions of the desktop site. Getsetbet was, for a time, in the latter of these categories, but they’ve relatively recently launched a mobile app which allows you to access their services easily on your mobile device. 

The Getsetbet app is decorated with the same bright design as the website, with the recognisable pink and blue colours of Getsetbet Australia adorning the home page. As with the website, you’ll be greeted by odds for the next races to jump with the ability to click into those markets, though by simply toggling to ‘Sports’ at the top you’ll get a fresh range of sports markets. 

You can quickly and easily locate all the markets Getsetbet have to offer on the app, but that’s not all you can do. You’ll also be able to deposit and withdraw, as well as access their excellent customer support platform – including their 24/7 live chat function which, as I mentioned earlier, I’m very fond of.  

The Getsetbet app is a relatively intuitive one, which is certainly a positive, though for the most part bookmaker apps are pretty straightforward to navigate around these days. What separates the best from the rest is the speed with which you can do so, and a consistent functionality. The most common problem that I find with betting app is a tendency for them to feel ‘heavy’ – slow to load, and prone to glitches such as closing at random. Some apps do this regularly enough to completely deter me from using them; others never do it. 

The Getsetbet app is somewhere in the middle. This is by no means a perfect app, and when using it I have occasionally run into the aforementioned issues. They have, however, been a rarity, and it’s also worth noting that this is still a relatively new app. Getsetbet have time to iron out these glitches, and for a new betting app it’s definitely towards the top end of the scale. 

Live betting is an increasingly popular way to bet, enabling punters to watch part of a game or race unfold before they bet. As it’s still a fairly new addition to the betting world, however, it’s not yet available everywhere. Unfortunately, Getsetbet Australia is one of those places. This may change at some point in the future, but for the time being, if you want to enjoy some live betting action you won’t be able to do it with Getsetbet. 

Now to banking, the most exciting part of your betting experience! I kid, although if you’re withdrawing your winnings it can certainly be good fun. Realistically, banking and payment methods is far from the most exciting topic related to betting sites, but it is the medium through which you’ll be able to bet and hopefully withdraw, so it’s important to know whether Getsetbet has payment options which suit you. 

It’s easy to deposit with Getsetbet; you can either do it when you sign up, or you can click on the ‘Deposit’ button you’ll see in the image in the below screenshot. 

As is often the case with betting sites which are still in their relative infancy, Getsetbet Australia has relatively slim pickings in terms of the number of deposit and withdrawal options that they offer. Where some bookies offer up to ten or more options, including things like eWallets, Apple Pay and more, for the time being Getsetbet is sticking to the basics. 

As do virtually all bookmakers, Getsetbet has Visa and Mastercard available for immediate deposits, which is what I use and in my view the simplest way to fund your account. If you’re like me, then you likely won’t mind about the lack of a significant number of other options; using your debit card is an easy way to deposit and is something that virtually everyone can do. 

Outside of those options, the only way you can put money into your account is by using POLi. This isn’t something that I’ve used particularly often, but it takes money directly from your bank account and is against relatively simple for anyone to do, though it is a little more time-consuming than simply using your debit card. 

If you’re in the enviable situation of having money in your account to withdraw, your only option is to use bank transfer. It’s worth noting that you can also use this as a deposit method, but unlike debit card and POLi, it won’t instantly fund your account.  

The same is true for withdrawals; using bank transfer won’t put funds immediately in your bank account. The Getsetbet withdrawal times will likely two or three days, but this is the case with nearly all bookmakers. 

Overall, Getsetbet Australia can’t compete with many of their counterparts in terms of the range of payment options they provide. For me, however, this isn’t an issue; I use debit card to deposit and bank transfer to withdraw regardless, as do many, and Getsetbet has these options available. If, however, you prefer to use something which is a little less common, Getsetbet will probably come up short for you.  

Customer support is another element of betting which, like banking, is not the most interesting to talk about, but it is something that you will invariably need to use and it’s good to know whether or not a betting site is going to be able to help you out. 

 As I mentioned earlier, for me this is one area in which Getsetbet excels, primarily for one reason; the 24/7 availability of their live chat platform. I think live chat is comfortably the most efficient way to resolve queries; it’s certainly a lot quicker than email, and while there is a time and a place for calling up to get help, live chat enables you to get assistance while doing something else while remaining quick and easy.  

The fact that it’s available 24/7 is an added bonus; you probably won’t be needing to use the function at 3 o’clock in the morning, but hey – it’s nice to have the option! And realistically, while you might not be using it at those hours, it’s not out of the realms of possibility that you’ll need to ask a question outside of business hours, which is when many bookmakers’ live chat platforms close down.  

Outside of live chat, the only option you have for getting in touch with Getsetbet is email. This is probably more suitable when you have long, complicated queries, or if you don’t have the time to sit around and have an online chat to resolve something. 

One area of improvement for Getsetbet Australia in relation to their customer support platform would be to add a phone option for punters. Of course, I did just say that live chat is easier than a phone call in my view, but there is a time and a place for the latter. Sometimes you just want to speak to someone in person to really clarify your issue, so hopefully Getsetbet adds this option in the future.  

Yep, Getsetbet is legal. Like a huge number of Australian bookmakers, Getsetbet is licensed and regulated by the Northern Territory Racing Commission, while their gambling operations are governed by Getsetbet’s own Responsible Gambling Code of Conduct – or the South Australian Responsible Gambling Code of Practice in South Australia. 

How to sign up with Getsetbet

As it is with most bookmakers these days, it’s super easy to sign up to Getsetbet and for me only took a minute or two. These are the steps you need to follow to create an account. 

• Head to www.getsetbet.com.au and click on the ‘’ button in the top right-hand corner of your page.  
• You’ll then be asked to fill in details including your email, password, username, mobile number and date of birth, after which you click on ‘Next Step’.
• After that, you’ll fill in some more personal details such as your name.
• Your account will then be created, and you’ll be asked if you want to set a deposit limit.
• You’ll then be prompted to add funds, or you can skip this step and add them later, and at this point your account is ready to go! 

How to deposit funds with Getsetbet 

It’s never particularly difficult to deposit funds with a betting site – after all, this is what they want you to do. As mentioned above, you can do this during the sign-up process, or alternatively you can follow these simple steps. 

• Locate the ‘Deposit’ button at the top of your page.
• You’ll then be taken to a page which allows you to insert your card details and deposit in that way, or you can toggle at the top to ‘POLi’ or ‘bank’ if either of those are a preferred payment method for you.
