There is no doubting that Bet365 are one of the biggest bookmakers in the world, and since they’ve entered Aussie shores back in 2012, we have seen them rapidly develop a substantial customer base down under. I have found that much of their success is underpinned by the great odds and wide range of markets they offer, but they have plenty of other strengths as well. In this detailed review I will tell you everything that you need to know about this betting giant.

Bet365 Strengths and Weaknesses
Like all betting sites, there are elements of the Bet365 experience which make them an attractive option for punters, and others which might act as something of a turnoff. I have found these to be the most notable strengths and weaknesses of the bookie:
- Great odds: One of the most notable features of Bet365 is the great odds they offer across both racing and sports. The odds they offer are consistently among the best, if not the best, in the industry, making them a popular choice for value-seekers.
- Wide range of markets: Given they are a global sports betting giant, it’s no surprise that Bet365 offers a wider range of markets versus most of their competitors. From the most popular to the more obscure, you can find markets with Bet365 on every sport that you would expect, as well as plenty more!
- Great website: The Bet365 online punting experience is a good one courtesy of their high-quality website. In shades of dark grey and green, it’s an aesthetically pleasing site, and everything is organised in a way which makes it fast and easy to navigate through. It also loads very quickly, something which can’t be said for some other bookmakers, for whom their websites regularly lag.
- Minimum withdrawal of $20: Bet365 is often positioned as an agency for higher stakes punters, and though it is certainly still useable for others, the minimum withdrawal is among the highest in the industry. For many this won’t be a big issue, but for those just playing with a few dollars, this is quite a high minimum withdrawal.
- Mobile app issues: The mobile app for Bet365 is actually a very good one and is generally quite easy to use, but it is prone to some issues. On occasions it will close down completely, while on others, odds won’t load when you click on an event.
- Balance is sometimes slow to update: When you win a bet, you typically want to see those funds quickly reflected in your balance so you know what you have to play with. Bet365 often takes a long time for this to happen, and this can be a source of frustration for many punters out there.
Every bookie has their strengths and weaknesses, and Bet365 is no different. Of what I have mentioned above, however, most punters will likely find that the strengths are far more significant than the weaknesses, which is one of the reasons this is one of the biggest bookies in the world.
Betting Variety ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Bet365’s range of markets is among the best in the business.
Banking Options ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
There are more deposit and withdrawal options than you have likely even heard of.
Mobile experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The app is generally a good one, though it does have a few lagging concerns, it depends on your mobile phone.
Payout Speed ⭐⭐⭐
Winning funds do tend to take a little while to appear at times.
Customer Support ⭐⭐⭐⭐
There are enough options to keep most customers happy, and agents are generally reasonably helpful.
Betting Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Courtesy of a great website, the betting experience with Bet365 is a good one. The only issue is bet365 has a reputation for limiting accounts that win large sums of money.
No major problems here.
Founded in the United Kingdom in 2000, Bet365 has developed into arguably the biggest bookmaker in the world over the past couple of decades. They entered the Aussie market 12 years later in 2012, and since then have made a significant imprint on our shores.
There are a multitude of reasons why Bet365 have been able to develop such a significant customer base, not least of which is the great odds and wide range of markets that they offer. This fundamental for any bookmaker, and they perform it as well as anyone. You’ll find great odds on most major markets, and these markets extend from the most regular sports and leagues to the more niche and surprising ones.
I believe that this bookie is equipped with an excellent website and an enormous range of payment methods, both features which make it easy for punters to access what they need to when using Bet365. The high-quality customer experience which they offer ensures that punters are more likely to continue using the bookmaker, and this works in tandem with their aforementioned excellent odds and range of markets, making them, on the whole, an extremely popular site.
No business, however, is perfect, and like all bookies Bet365 has its flaws, though these are perhaps a little less pronounced than some of their competitors. I believe that the bookie’s high withdrawal minimum might turn off some users while there are certain frustrations which come with their app, but for most people these issues will not be the be-all and end-all.
Overall, I find that Bet365 is one of the most popular bookmakers in the world for a reason. The components of a bookie which are typically among the most important for punters are executed very well by this global betting giant, and the weaknesses that they do have will be relatively unimportant for most punters.
When was Bet365 founded?
Bet365 was founded in 2000, in England by Denise Coates. It has since expanded around the globe, dropping anchor in Aussie shores back in 2012.
How does Bet365 earn money?
Essentially, they earn money because most punters lose in the long run. Bookmakers build what’s known as a ‘margin’ into their odds, which essentially means that they will make a profit off the average punter.
Does Bet365 have an Android app?
They sure do! Bet365’s mobile app, which we discussed in greater detail above, is available for both iOS and Android devices, meaning it caters to a large proportion of punters.
What is the Bet365 Bet Builder?
Bet365’s Bet Builder essentially functions in the same way as a Same Game Multi, allowing you to combine different markets from the same event into one bet. This function has varying availability depending on the sport, and putting together the bet is a little more cumbersome than with some other agencies, but the odds offered for these bets are generally decent and it still serves as a valuable addition to the site.
Can I still follow an event live on Bet365 if they don’t offer a live stream?
Yes! This is one of Bet365’s best features and one which sets them apart from a lot of their competitors. If you open the in-play tab and click into a game, often this will open up a unique feature on the right-hand side of your screen alongside the live odds. Exactly what this feature shows depends on the sport, but in general it will include an image of the field and information about which team has the ball, where they are located on the field and what sort of play is in progress, and the graphic updates in real-time.
Can anyone bet with Bet365?
As with all bookmakers in Australia, you need to be at least 18 years of age in order to create an account. Other than that, though, it’s open slather. There are certain restrictions which apply from state to state which can impact the accessibility of specific features, but this won’t have a major impact on your betting experience.
Bet365 Horse racing betting
|Horse racing is a feature of Bet365, with markets on all Australian races as well as plenty more from overseas. I have found betting on it to be quite easy – as well as a ‘next to jump’ feature on the home page of the site, there is also a horse racing tab which allows you to scroll through all the Australian and international races ‘coming up today’ and in the days ahead.
In my opinion, one aspect of the interface here which is arguably lacking in comparison to some competitors is the fact that there is no way to easily see all the races which are coming up next once you click into the horse racing tab.
While there is a ‘next to jump’ feature at the top, there are only three races listed here and no ability to scroll further. Below that, each race is listed and the time it will jump made clear, but they aren’t chronologically ordered so finding the next races is a matter of scrolling through and manually looking at the times – unless you click back to the home page.
Aside from this though, betting on racing with this bookie is a fairly seamless process. Once you click into a race, I have found that both the fixed odds and the tote are easily accessible.
With features like the odds drift protector (which means if the fixed win odds of the horse you bet on happen to drift after you place your bet, you’ll get the increased odds at the time of the jump should you win) and the fact that they offer returns from the top of the three national totes, I have found that you’re able to earn more from your wins than with most other agencies!
Overall, horse racing is a strong feature of this bookie, and given that Bet365 are one of the biggest bookmakers in the world – I don’t think it should come as such a surprise that this aspect of their company is so well-developed!
Bet365 Betting on sports
In my opinion, the range of sports markets available on Bet365 is virtually unmatched, with every sport that you know and love, and likely a few more, all available to bet on! From football and basketball through to cross country skiing and table tennis, Bet365 covers it all, and also generally boasts a wide range of markets on the sports and leagues it does offer odds for in my experience.
The site orders the markets in quite a logical way. After selecting your relevant sport from the tab on the left-hand side of the screen, you’ll then be taken to a page with a few featured upcoming matches from that given sport, before leagues and tournaments are listed separately below, with the most popular taking pride of place at the top, and the more obscure events found further down the page.
Overall, I think the sports betting side of Bet365 is a strength of theirs. There are plenty of markets on a huge range of different sports, the odds are up there with the best in the business, and your betting options are generally relatively easy to locate!
Bet365 Betting Markets & Types of Bets Available
So, we’ve talked about the wide range of markets on offer with Bet365, but what exactly are those markets? Below, I have taken a look at some of the most common markets you can bet on with this bookie:
Bet365 Betting Markets
- Points totals
- Quarter/half markets
- Player props
- Scoring markets
- Time markets
Bet365 Types of Bets
- Single bets
- System bets (doubles, trebles etc.)
📱Bet365 App and Mobile Site
I feel as though it’s a general consensus that every bookmaker in the modern day is in need of a decent mobile app, and this is because, many punters are preferring the flexibility of betting on their handheld mobile device versus that of a computer. So, let’s take a look at what Bet365 have to offer in this space!
Like their website, the Bet365 mobile app – which is available for both iOS and Android devices – is well laid-out and extremely easy to use. In terms of navigation, it’s among the best in the industry – they’ve squeezed a lot into a small space while maintaining a minimalist feel, and navigating between different screens is extremely efficient. This is a major tick in their favour because the most consistent problem I have found with bookie’s mobile apps is that they feel heavy and have a tendency to lag, something Bet365 have avoided.
There are however, albeit rarely, some issues which occasionally arise with the app, and these, of course, can be a source of frustration for users. I have found one to be that the app has a tendency to simply close out of nowhere at times, which is certainly irritating when you’re about to place a bet. Another is that, at times, when you click on an event, the pop-up screen which shows the odds is simply blank. This is usually rectified by simply closing and reopening the app, but nonetheless it’s a little annoying.
On the whole, however, the Bet365 platform is a good one in my opinion. The most important features of an app are executed well, and with the exception of the aforementioned annoyances it’s one of the best on the market.
Bet365 Best Features
Bet365 has a number of great features that separate them from competitors, and I have found these to be some of the most notable:
Bet365 Odds drift protector
I believe this to be a great and unique addition to the Bet365 experience. It basically means that, if you place a bet on a racing market and the odds at the jump are longer than they were when you placed the bet, if your runner wins, you’ll receive the odds from the jump!
Bet365 Industry-leading odds
Of course, it depends on the market, but by and large I have found the odds available with Bet365 are among the best in the industry. For both sports and racing, you’ll get as much bang for your buck as with any bookie in the country!
Bet365 Huge range of payment methods
If you don’t like using your credit/debit card to deposit and withdraw, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the range of options Bet365 has in this regard. In fact, they have more than any other bookmaker I’ve seen, ensuring you’ll be able to find something that suits you.
Bet365 Live betting and streaming
You can place live bets on a host of different events with Bet365. And, what’s more, you can also tune into the action of a number of different racing and sports leagues and events, direct on the Bet365 site
Bet365 live streaming
As with an increasing number of betting services, Bet365 Australia now offers live streaming on select events, both on their desktop site as well as on their app. The bigger leagues like the AFL and NRL aren’t available but there is still plenty of choice. The sports you can stream with them include select games from the world of soccer, tennis, basketball, squash, darts, cricket and snooker, while races from South Australia and Victoria are also streamed live.
As always, there is a caveat – to have access to the live streaming you need to either have funds in your account, or have placed a bet using Bet365 in the last 24 hours. This is the case with most betting agencies and isn’t a particularly difficult requirement to fulfil, but it’s worth keeping in mind.
Perhaps one of the only slightly irritating elements of Bet365 live streaming that I have come across is the fact that often, videos begin automatically when you open a page, so if you’re at work or somewhere else where you shouldn’t be punting make sure you have your volume down! Aside from that, however, I find live streaming to be a valuable addition to this bookie!
*Watch Live Sport – You can watch live sport on your mobile, tablet or desktop including Soccer, Tennis and Basketball. All you need is a funded account or to have placed a bet in the last 24 hours to qualify. Under Australian law, we are required to inform you that Live Streaming on bet365 is exempt from Parts 3 and 4 of the Broadcasting Services (Online Content Service Provider Rules) 2018.
Like with all other betting agencies in Australia, you need to physically call up to make an in-play bet with Bet365. This doesn’t have to be a major issue and the process is still relatively streamlined – upon clicking on the bet you wish to make; a pop-up will appear with the option to call an advisor. This can be done both on a computer via the desktop page, or through the app on another device, and in both cases, you are given a reference number to quote once you connect to an agent.
Obviously, the major issue with this system – and one which all betting sites in Australia have to deal with – is the speed with which game circumstances and subsequently the odds change. As a result, it’s vital that the process is as fast as possible to minimise this problem. Bet365 generally does a decent job of this, however the time between when you click to call and when the bet is placed is certainly longer than with a couple of other agencies. They are far from the worst though, and the volume of in-play betting options is more than sufficient to offset this.
Overall, though, I definitely think that Bet365’s in-play betting system is one of the better ones going around!
Bet365 Site Usability
The Bet365 website is one of the easiest to use of all the Australian bookmakers. Upon entering it, you’re greeted by a list of the next races to jump, as well as a list of the biggest upcoming sporting events on the centre of the page. As with most similar websites, a list of different sports are then found alphabetically down the left hand side, while an in-play tab at the top of the page lets you quickly find odds for events which are already in progress.
Where the website excels relative to its competitors is in its speed. Loading times are minimal and the most popular leagues and events in a given sport are listed at the top of the page once you select that sport, so finding your way to major markets is a straightforward exercise.
Perhaps the one area in which the site could be improved is in finding markets for the lesser leagues. College football, for example, comes second to the NFL as the most popular American football league, and to find markets for it you need to click on the American football tab then scroll through a significant number of different NFL markets before locating the NCAAF. It’s a relatively minor issue and one which could be improved by placing the extra markets for the top league in a drop-down menu, and it’s also indicative of the huge range of markets the website offers. Invariably it’s more time-consuming to peruse through markets when there are a lot of them as compared to smaller agencies who offer only a handful, so in that sense this issue is indicative of one of Bet365’s strengths.
Overall, Bet365 Australia offers one of the best betting agency site experiences. It’s fast, generally very straightforward to use, and makes it easy to access everything you need.
Bet365 Opening an account
| |I have found process of opening an account with Bet365 to be a relatively standard one. A ‘join’ button on the top right section of the screen begins the onboarding process, and from there it’s simply a matter of filling in your details.
For the most part these are typical of joining every betting agency – you’ll need to provide your name, date of birth, email address and a contact number, before coming up with a username and a password for your account. You also need to provide details of where you live – something standard across all betting agencies as the legalities surrounding what you can and can’t do vary from country to country and even state to state.
You’ll then be able to fill in a number of preferences – things like what type of odds display you would like, whether you wish to set a deposit limit, and what your time zone is – to customise your experience. Upon clicking the ‘Join Bet365’ button at the end of the screen, any mandatory fields which haven’t been filled in will light up in orange.
Identity verification needs to then be completed within 30 days. To do this, you can send through a scan of a recent bank statement or a utility bill, or you can also have a letter sent to the address you’ve provided which contains a code, though this option is a little more labourious.
Most punters will be happy enough to simply use their credit or debit card to deposit and withdraw, and as a result these are the first options listed under the payment methods of virtually every bookie. After that, I have found that things tend to differ significantly, where some bookmakers are offering only very few alternatives while we see others offering plenty.
Bet365 falls into the latter category; in fact, they might have more options than any other bookie in Australia! Any payment methods you’ve ever considered using or even heard of are available with them – as are many you’ve likely never seen before. There are the more common options like PayPal and POLi, ewallets like Neteller and Skrill, plus a whole lot more.
| | | |
Is this a big tick in their favour? It really depends on the punter. Personally, we tend to stick to the basics, so whether there are a host of options is not too much of a concern. If you would prefer to use an option which is a little less common, however, you can be sure that it will be available with Bet365.
Overall, I have found the Bet365 withdrawal and deposit system is about as simple as it gets. There is a huge range of options, and money is returned quickly to your bank account.
Check out this Bet365 Deposit & Withdrawal Ultimate Guide that I have made with an aim to answer the common questions about the payment processes that this bookie has.
🏅Bet365 Loyalty programs
One criticism that I have often seen made of Bet365 is that they don’t offer the same quantity of rewards for using their platform as what many of their competitors do. This is certainly true to an extent, and they tend to rely more on the multitude of other advantages which come with betting with Bet365 than trying to entice customers with particular programs.
That isn’t to say that there are no rewards for continued loyalty to Bet365 Australia. Intermittently, customers will have a small loyalty credit added to their balance for continually betting with them, and while it’s not a large sum it is nonetheless a tangible reward for using their service.
☎️Bet365 Customer service
As with all betting agencies, customer service is an important part of the Bet365 offering. The ‘contact us’ tab could be a little more accessible – rather than having it on the main page, you need to click either ‘Help’ or one of the options on the drop-down menu at the top right of the screen to access the options – but once you find it the options are aplenty.
Bet365 live chat is available 24/7, while you can also send an email or a web message if you don’t require an immediate response. If you’d prefer to speak to somebody in person you can also call up every minute of every day, while a post option is also available for those who need it.
The 24/7 options – live chat and calling up – are the quickest ways to find an answer to your questions, and generally the customer service team is fairly helpful. Wait times on live chat can blow out a little if it’s a busy time, but rarely will you be waiting more than a few minutes and in my experience your question will generally be answered quickly thereafter.
All in all, I feel this is a well-developed area of the site. There is an abundance of options to suit a variety of different needs, and the most commonly used of those – namely the live chat – are an efficient way to find an answer to your questions.
🔒Bet365 Reputations, security and license
Bet365 is arguably the biggest bookmaker on the planet, something which doesn’t happen without developing a reputation as a safe and reliable place to entrust with your hard-earned. Their home page has a ‘Responsible Gambling’ link in the top right corner, which takes you to a page that goes into detail about the risks associated with punting and the commitment Bet365 has to ensuring their customers do so responsibly.
Bet365 is in a handful of major bookies that is a member of Responsible Wagering Australia, and they have a number of ways in which they implement this commitment. Deposit limits create a threshold on the amount you can deposit within a certain time frame, a ‘reality check’ pop-up consistently checks in if you’ve been logged in for an extended period of time, while time-outs and self-exclusion force you to step away for a while if you require. The Responsible Gambling page also requires and provides information about how to contact organisations dedicated to help individuals with gambling issues.
Given they are such a big betting agency that generates such a large amount of income each year, there is no reason to feel concerned about the security of your funds – the company isn’t exactly dancing on the precipice of insolvency!
One blip on the reputation of Bet365 is in their tendency to prevent consistent, big winners from continuing to gamble with them. This is an issue with a number of agencies and Bet365 certainly doesn’t escape the heat, so if you’re a consistently successful punter, well then this is something to take into account.
On the whole, however, I think it’s clear that the agency is successful for a reason. Your money and information are safe with them, and they have demonstrated a reasonably sound commitment to responsible gambling practices.
Is Bet365 Legit?
Yep! With over two decades of experience and as one of the biggest bookies in the world, you can be confident that you’re getting what you bargained for with this bookie. They are licensed and regulated by the Northern Territory Racing Commission, as are many Aussie bookies, meaning you can be sure that their operations are above board.
👨⚖️Bet365 Final Verdict
Bet365 hasn’t become one of the largest bookmakers on the planet by accident, and I think that the Australian branch of their organisation is indicative of this. In a highly saturated market, they have separated themselves as one of the better options for a wide range of reasons, not least their array of markets and competitive odds. Their desktop site is intuitive and easy to use, while the betting app would be considered by many to be the best going around.
Depositing and withdrawing are easy, there are plenty of customer service options and their global reputation has been built in part through years of providing a safe environment in which to punt. Their tendency to limit or ban winning bettors is one black mark on the company and one which has earned them some criticism from punters, but on the whole, I think that Bet365 Australia is up there with the best agencies in an increasingly competitive betting landscape.
