After an absence of almost two months, we are back at headquarters on Saturday for our second multi-tip of 2024.

It feels good to be back at Flemington on a Saturday. Some of the top moments in 2023 came at the Melbourne course, and 2024 looks no different. The horse racing bookmakers have made these three selections their favourites, and we think they are right to do so.

This race is a little bit deeper than the races that she has been mopping up of late, but she is well and truly worth the step up in class, as she has shown that she will be capable of it. Three wins on the bounce have all been accomplished with absolute ease around this trip at Morphettville and Gawler. She only saluted in one of her first 12 races, but the lightbulb has come on in no uncertain manner of late, and we feel she will continue that winning run against this better opposition. 

The winner of three of his four starts so far this prep, his sole defeat came when he had to challenge wide on a Caulfield track that gave a massive advantage to the inside lanes. He arguably produced the run of his life when winning a Listed contest out on a Soft 5 surface last time. The ground is going to be similar here for him. The Astrologist will be fitter for his first start back when well behind Sghirripa but there is still plenty of ground for him to make up if he is to reverse that form.

He was impressive when winning at Randwick last time out, doing well stepping up to 1600m from the 1400m he ran over on his first start back from 168 days off. He has form over longer trips in the past, so this big galloping track will be perfect for him, and with form on all ground, he won’t mind what the weather does. Although he’s a five-year-old, he has only had ten starts in his career, so there is a strong possibility that there will be more to come from him.

With a winner two weeks back and two winners from the three selections last week, the multitip has been picking up some success of late. Hopefully, our selections from the racing sites this week can have more winners in them as we hit Flemington on Saturday afternoon.
