Steve Smith out for the Sixers is big news, as Phillipe and Vince will be slightly watchful against the seam attack of Hobart. McDermott and Jewell are confirmed to open, this pairing should be ultra aggressive and look to take on most of the balls they will face in the powerplay (first 4 overs).

They have McDermott who has hit 110 sixes in his BBL career also Wade and David average more than 1 six per innings in their BBL career. Not to mention Corey Anderson, Chris Jordan and Nathan Ellis who are all handy. Sydney have lost Smith which is a blow to their six chances.

We took this in the last game and it won very comfortably, he battered 99 runs which led the Heat to collect their first win of the season. He will be playing a pivotal role throughout the season and he is playing the most aggressive cricket of his life. He has a T20I strike rate of 156+ which is extremely high and amongst some of the most powerful in world cricket. This style of play should gain quick runs against the Sydney Thunder attack at the Manuka Oval.
