European football: The last spot is up for grabs

With the final game week amongst us, there is one more spot for European football. With the recent introduction of the UEFA Europa Conference League just 2 years ago, it gave the opportunity for another team in England to play European Football. Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford are all in the running to take that 7th spot and play in Europe next season. Aston Villa are in 7th spot with 58 points and a goal difference of 4, meanwhile Tottenham Hotspur are also on 4 goal difference but are 1 point behind Aston Villa and are on 57 points. Brentford have the best goal difference with 11 and 56 points.

Aston Villa

Currently sitting in 7th spot, Aston Villa will be excited to be back in European football next season after a hiatus since 2010. A win against Brighton & Hove Albion will secure European football for them, they are at $2.05 to win, which can be found on the betting site Getsetbet

Tottenham Hotspur

After having a very underachieving season, Tottenham will want to secure a European spot, as a club of that size should be playing in Europe. They face relegation candidates Leeds United away from home, and are favourites at $2.40 on Getsetbet. Harry Kane has scored 28 goals this season and Tottenham will hope he can continue his form and take them to Europe next season on the final match day. They need a win, or a draw and Aston Villa to lose.

Brentford

Another amazing season for Brentford, who can’t believe where they are, a potential for European Football. They are 1 win away granted results go their favour. They do have a massive mountain to climb as they are playing Manchester City. After already securing the title, Pep Guardiola is likely to rotate the squad, which will favour Thomas Frank, who was dealt with a big blow as Ivan Toney is suspended for 8 months due to breaking betting rules. Brentford are underdogs and are $3.80 to win on Getsetbet.
